Where Are They Now: Leyton Orient Youth Team 2016

Among a mulitude of brilliant things, the one thing Leyton Orient, and it's fans, can be proud of is the success of the clubs academy.

Laurie Cunningham, Moses Odubajo and, more recently, Daniel Happe are just a few names who have graduated from the clubs youth system, however, in this article, we will be taking a look at the members of the 2016 Leyton Orient u18's side and see 'Where They Are Now'.

Arthur Janata - Leyton Orient (Bishop Stortford on-loan)

Janata is still with the O's but is yet to feature in the league under Justin Edinburgh this season. At just 18-years-old, it appears that Arthur has a very bright future here in E10 but will struggle to break into the side at this present time, with the likes of Brill, Sargeant, and Grainger ahead of him. He is currently on-loan at Bishop Stortford.

Sam Roach - Histon United

Roach was considered to be an exciting prospect at Brisbane Road, following in the footsteps of Charlie Grainger and attending a England goalkeeper training camp at the age of 16. However, opportunities were limited in E10 and Roach joined Histon United on a permanent deal, having spent time on loan there previously.

Myles Judd - Leyton Orient

Somewhat of a miniature success story for the Leyton Orient academy as Judd graduated from the youth system and went onto represent the O's on 48 occasions, at the time of writing. In addition to this, Judd was award the 'Apprentice of the Year' award during the O's final season within the football league.

Teddy Perkins - Burnley

Perkins, who was a commanding centre-back, was snapped up by Premier League club Burnley within the summer of 2018. The defender has yet to feature within the first team but is considered to be a prominent figure within their u23 side.

Toby Stevenson - Charlton Athletic

Much like Perkins, Stevenson was snapped up within the summer of 2018 and moved south of the river to link up with Charlton. Stevenson has even enjoyed some success with the Addicks, scoring a hat-trick against Stevenage. Not bad for his senior debut.

Dan Happe - Leyton Orient

Happe has been making waves within the first team as of recent, conceding just five goals in 550 minutes of football where Dan had featured. With the likes of Ekpiteta and Coulson now unavailable, this will certainly provide Happe the chance to shine which he almost certainly will.

Henry Ochieng - Braintree Town

Ochieng broke into the first team during Orient's final season within the football league. However, Henry departed during the early months of Orient's first season within the National League before joining newly-promoted Braintree Town. Ochieng has also represented Kenya at U23 level.

Rian McLean - Doncaster Rovers

McLean failed to break into the first team at Leyton Orient and had to leave for Enfield Town in order to play consistent first-team football. Scouts from Doncaster Rovers appeared to be impressed with the former Orient midfielder and signed him on a professional deal.

Josh Koroma - Leyton Orient

This man needs no introduction. Koroma, partnered with Bonne, have been raking in the goals for the east London side this season, attracting the interest of Sunderland who made a £300,000 bid for the Orient youth product.

Steven Alzate - Brighton and Hove Albion (Swindon on-loan)

Much like Ochieng, Alzate impressed with his creative nature during Leyton Orient's final season within the football league. However, following his impressive performances, this attracted the attention of Brighton who signed the midfielder for a undisclosed fee. Alzate is currently on loan at Swindon Town where the Brighton man has continued to shine in League Two.

Pat Adamson - The World

In all honesty, we haven't got a clue where he is. Here at Everything Orient we try to provide reliable information but in this case we genuinely haven't got a scooby. Sorry lads.

Charley Barker - Haringey Borough

Barker, unfortunately, was unable to establish himself in E10 and after loan moves at Wingate & Finchley and Northwood FC, he finally found his feet at Haringey Borough - who feature in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Sam Dalby - Leeds United (Morecambe on-loan)

Dalby, much like most of the players on this list, broke into the first-team during the 2016-17 season as a 16-year-old. However, the Orient youngster attracted the interest of Championship side Leeds United who signed for an undisclosed fee within the January transfer window of 2018. Dalby has now joined Morecambe on-loan for a six-month period.

Tristan Abrahams - Norwich City (Yeovil on-loan)

Abrahams made his professional debut for the O's in March 2017 and impressed during his short stay at the Breyer Group Stadium. After making just nine appearances, Abrahams linked up with Norwich City in the Championship for an undisclosed fee. The striker joined Exeter City on-loan this season but was recalled and shipped out to Yeovil for the remainder of the season.

Ruel Sotiriou - Leyton Orient

Still currently with the club, Sotiriou is one for the future at just 17-years-old. Furthermore, with Koroma's injury and Alabi's dip in form, this may present Sotiriou the opportunity to stake his claim within the first team.
