In this series at Everything Orient, we take a look back at ex-Orient players and managers and see where their careers have taken them since their departure from Brisbane Road.
Player Profile
Harry Lee was a Leyton Orient youth player who featured for the O's between 2012 and 2016, making seven first team appearances.
Where Have They Been?
Former Orient players turn up in some of the unlikeliest of places.
Lee played seven games for Orient in all competitions, but was often on the bench, and performed well on loans to Welling and Farnborough.
He came up through the ranks alongside Sam Ling, Freddy Moncur and Sandro Semedo at a time when off-field problems meant there was a very negative mood around the club.
Lee moved permanently to Welling in 2015-16 during a season where they battled against relegation. Much like during his time with Welling, Lee battled relegation from the National League once again with Braintree the following season. Harry then joined Concord, who currently sit just outside the play-offs.
At first glance Harry Lee hasn’t gone anywhere too surprising. He is one of several ex-O’s to join Sammy Moore at Concord Rangers in the National League South.
Alongside Sean Clohessy, Aaron Pollock and Sammy himself, Lee was aiming to push Concord into the play-offs, and the National League next season. However, Lee recently swapped Concord Rangers for East Thurrock, where he currently plays his football now.
Where Are They Now?
Aside from East Thurrock, an even bigger audience than the BT Sport cameras on Saturday lunchtimes beckons, as Harry Lee has been announced as one of the new members of the cast of The Only Way is Essex on ITVBe.
Harry claims he has ‘the best chat’ - East Thurrock will be hoping he doesn’t have his head turned by some of the more glamorous cast members and does his talking on the pitch.
O’s fans will all surely wish Harry the best of luck on TOWIE, hopefully he gets more involved in the banter and less of the drama. But for me it’s his and East Thurrock’s success I’d really like to see.
