Leyton Orient have recently announced that Levi Lumeka, a Crystal Palace youth graduate, will be playing his football in E10 this season as he joins on a loan deal.
Although it isn't Yaya Toure, Leyton Orient fans should be excited about the O's recent new signing.
Levi Lumeka, 19, is a tricky winger who impressed within the development leagues last season. Furthermore, his hard work and impressive performances didn't go unnoticed, as he was gifted a first team appearance against Burnley last season. This was later followed by a League Cup appearance against Bristol City.
Regarding his performances at u23 level, Lumeka was the beating heart of a young Crystal Palace side. During the 2017/18 season, he made 25 appearances and found the back of the net on 13 occasions.
Crystal Palace development coach, Dave Reddington, had this to say about the player:
"He is always in the right position, he moves forward with the game and always takes his chances," Reddington shared.
Furthermore, the Crystal Palace coach went onto say that his strongest attribute is his goal-scoring ability. He recognised that this was a key part of his game, with Lumeka claiming he scored 98 goals in a single season when he was 10-years-old. And no, that isn't a typo.
Regardless, we hope that Lumeka will hit the ground running at Orient and will hopefully give Macauley Bonne some healthy competition for the top scorer award at E10.
