The O’s reembark on their road to Wembley this weekend as they host Blyth Spartans of the National League North in the first ever competitive fixture between the two clubs.

Orient go into the game after picking up a much needed 3-0 victory over Maidstone on home soil on Saturday after losing three of their last six games prior.

In comparison, The Spartans haven’t lost away from home since mid-October however defeat against Hereford last weekend brought an end to their their 14 game unbeaten run, a run which included seven successive victories.

Blyth Spartans are no strangers to upsetting National League opposition this season. The Green Army saw off Boreham Wood 1-0 in the previous round to earn themselves a tie at The Breyer Group Stadium in round three.

Covers have been placed over the turf at Brisbane Road in advance of the fixture to ensure the game can be played despite frosty conditions. The cup fixture will be warmly welcomed by Edinburgh as it allows for squad rotation which is crucial with the current injuries sustained by regular starters.
