Preview: Halifax v Orient


This article focuses upon Leyton Orient’s next opponents, Halifax Town, as we take a look at their form, previous meetings and much more ahead of this weekend’s fixture.

After a 16th placed finish last campaign, Halifax are one of many teams showing an early statement of intent for promotion this season. This weekend they play host to another inform side, in the shape of Leyton Orient.


After winning their first three games of the season without conceding a goal, Jamie Fullerton’s side have had mixed results, however, sustained form to keep them in the play-off positions. A return of five points in their last three games has left The Shaymen in 4th position in the table. 

Orient sit two places above this weekend’s opposition in the table having picked up two more points this campaign. The O’s are undefeated in the nine games played this season and have picked up a maximum of nine points in their last three games.  In this fixture last season, Orient won 2-1 with goals coming from Josh Koroma and Macauley Bonne.

Striker James Alabi is eligible for selection again after serving a three match ban for his red card at Gateshead. However midfielder Dale Gorman won’t feature as he is on international duty, captaining the Northern Ireland u21 team.  No fresh injury news for Halifax, however ex-Orient skipper, Nathan Clark is set to feature against his former team.  Potential Halifax Starting XI: Johnson, Brown, Lenighan, Clark, Skarz, Southwell, Berett, Edwards, Hanson, Preson, Kosylo.
