Preview: Exeter City v Leyton Orient

Time: 15:00

Date: 14/09/19

Venue: St James Park

Following a frustrating run of form, Orient are faced with a trip to top of the table Exeter in search for their first victory at St James Park since 2001.

The Grecians are one of just two undefeated teams in the division after seven games played, moreover they are yet to concede the first goal or to trail in any of their league games this season.

Matt Taylor’s side have picked up 17 points in the form of five victories and two draws, the impressive start has seen the gaffer pick up the August Manager of the Month award in League Two.

As for the O’s, one league victory in six makes for very different reading in the table. Three defeats, two draws and two wins puts Orient 17th in League Two with eight points.

After falling to a humbling 3-1 defeat at the hands of Swindon last weekend there is arguably no better time for Ross Embelton to try a new approach and use a 4-4-2 formation which many fans have been calling out for.

Although form favours the hosts, history with Saturday’s opposition shows both sides to be evenly matched. The O’s currently claim marginal bragging rights over the Grecian’s after recording 33 head-to-head victories compared to the 32 of Exeter, with honours being even on 24 occasions.
