In our new series at Everything Orient, we take a look back at ex-Orient players and see were their careers have taken them since their departure from Brisbane Road.
Shaun Batt, or the Battman as he was commonly referred to, featured for Leyton Orient between 2013 and 2015, making over 60 appearances for the O's.
However, it was Stevenage where Batt started his career but he was unable to make his mark on the first team as went onto spend loan spells at Arlesey Town and Cheshunt. Furthermore, the same situation seemed to occur at Dagenham and Redbridge as he was unable to guarantee a first team spot.
Therefore, the Battman opted to join Conference South side Fisher Athletic in 2007 where he experienced a break through season, making 33 appearances and finding the back of the net eleven times.
This breakout season helped pave through a move to Peterborough, who were a League One side at the time. Shaun made 60 appearances during his time at the Posh before moving onto Millwall in 2013, where he would spend three years of his career.
Before his departure from south London, Batt spent a brief loan spell with Leyton Orient at the tail end of 2013 and Russell Slade, O's manager at the time, had this to say about him:
"He's been a real success during his time here and aside from some terrific performances on the pitch he has been an excellent figure in and around the changing room."
Therefore, Slade opted to sign the Battman on a permanent basis in 2013.
The forward enjoyed his time in east London before moving onto Barnet alongside Kevin Lisbie in 2015. Following his release in 2017, Batt now features for non-league side Chelmsford City and currently plays alongside ex-Orient defender Elliot Omozusi.
