In this series at Everything Orient, we take a look back at ex-Orient players and see where their careers have taken them since their departure from Brisbane Road.
Player Profile
Ollie Palmer was an official Orient player from 2015-2017. The 26-year-old striker made 65 appearances, bagging 12 goals for the O’s and is now currently playing his seventh season in League Two making 181 league appearances so far.
Where Have They Been?
Palmer entered the Woking youth system after leaving school in 2008. Here he began his career - signing a first-team contract in August 2010. Ollie was loaned out to fellow Conference South clubs St Albans City and Boreham Wood, scoring once in 10 games.
Ollie signed for another conference south club, Havant & Waterlooville, in 2011. The young striker started making a name for himself there, by scoring seven in five games. He finished the 2012-13 season as top scorer with 25 goals in the conference south, whilst being named Player of the Year.
This caught the eye of newly promoted League Two club Mansfield Town, who signed him in 2013. He only scored four in his first season in Mansfield, and was loaned to Grimsby in his second. During his time with Grimsby, he never quite managed to regain his form - scoring only 7 times in that season.
His next season took him to Brisbane Road, where he spent two years at the Orient - making 73 appearances and scoring 14 goals. He spent the end of his second season on loan at Luton Town and the next season he signed for Lincoln City on a one year deal.
Where Are They Now?
Palmer has recently signed for League Two club Crawley on a two year contract and will be looking to make his debut in this coming season.
