Where Are They Now: Jonathan Téhoué

In our new series at Everything Orient, we take a look at ex-Orient players and see where their careers have taken them since their departure from Brisbane Road.

In the FA Cup 5th round back in February 2011, Jonathan Téhoué was the man of the moment as he scored a memorable goal which forced a replay against Premier League giants Arsenal. However, where has his career taken him since then?

Téhoué was a French striker, born in Paris, who joined the O's in 2010, following stints with SC Bastia, APOEL and Konyaspor. The Frenchmen would spend two seasons at Brisbane Road before departing the club in 2012.

After a falling out with then manager Russell Slade, Téhoué joined Swindon Town on loan for the remainder of the 2011/12 season. Furthermore, the striker even went on record saying that he hoped to stay at Swindon and score against Orient during his time with the Robins.

However, Swindon manager at the time, Paolo Di Canio, refused to sign the forward on a permanent basis as he claimed "He's not as good as I thought he was.".

In late 2012, Tehoue departed the English shores and never really settled with a club, featuring for sides such as Amiens and US Boulogne. Due to this, the Frenchmen took the decision to retire from professional football at the age of just 31.

If he and Russel Slade never fell out, who knows where Tehoue's career may have taken him.

What do you think of Téhoué and who would you like to see Everything Orient cover next? Feel free to leave any suggestions below in the comments section or reply to our tweet on Twitter. Up the O's!
