Romain's Return?

32-year-old French midfielder Romain Vincelot, a familiar name to O's fans, could be out-of-contract with League One club Bradford City this summer. Some Orient fans are calling for him to be resigned, but will this happen? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.

Many O's fans hold a soft spot for Vincelot, who was a member of the 2013/14 play-off team that helped the O's reach Wembley. During his time, with the O's he picked up the odd red card now and then but did score the winner in the Second Round of the Capital One Cup in 2014 against Aston Villa, who were in the Premier League at the time. Furthermore, he has made 81 appearances and scored three goals whilst in E10.

 In 2010 Vincelot joined then League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge, a move that would change him as a player in terms of style and confidence. In his first full season he was the Daggers top scorer with 12 goals as he helped them to promotion to League One, via the playoffs. Despite being a full back in France, John Still converted him into a central midfielder, something that changed the course, success and potential of his career.

As much as Orient fans like Romain for his services to the club, some think he will not drop two divisions to non league football just for his love of the O's.

@OrientMeatPie

Nah. Firstly, he’s too good for this league. Secondly, he’s too expensive. Thirdly, he’s a mercenary who will go to the highest bidder. No thanks.

@LenM4

I'd love him to come back, but there's no chance he'll drop two divisions when he's guaranteed to get Football League interest. Absolutely no chance.

However, some are still optimistic Orient can pull off this signing despite the division and wage gap.

@EuroOrient

Even if we can get Adams, would try and get him back

What a player

The board and coaching staff at the club have already made their intentions clear on resigning Ebou Adams on a permeant deal, something which is backed by O's supporters. However, the club are yet to declare interest in Vincelot. Furthermore, former 2013/14 playoff finalists Matheiu Baudry and Scott Cuthbert are also out of contract in the summer and possible moves back to E10 has been discussed on Twitter by O's fans.

This season at Bradford, Vincelot made 32 appearances in all competitions and scored 4 goals, a decent season on paper which will surely attract interest from Football League clubs. It would be good to have Vincelot back at the club due to his vast experience as a player, on the other hand would his age mix well in a young Orient team?

Only time will tell but from what we've seen so far, we are set for another busy summer in E10.

Thanks for reading this article, what are your thoughts on Vincelot coming back to Orient? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter. Up the O's!
