Following the disappointing result against Dover Athletic, not being able to convert crucial chances seems to the O's main downfall this season. So how will we combat this?
Within Leyton Orient's recent loss to Dover, not being able to covert the most crucial chances seems to be what cost the O's the three points. Furthermore, Macauley Bonne and Dan Holman have particular come under fire following their questionable display against the south coast side.
However, there is no denying the fact that both strikers are of great quality, with Bonne one of the leading scorers in the league with 16 goals. Nonetheless, it does make you think, how many goals would the striker score if he converted just a handful of his chances.
Despite this, Bonne is only 22-years-old and has plenty of time to develop as a forward. In addition to this, it's certainly encouraging that the forward is getting in the right goal scoring positions and the goals will hopefully come flooding in.
As a young player, Bonne may need the guidance of an experienced striker to help improve his confidence and clinical nature in front of goal. This is something that we certainly have at Leyton Orient, in the form of David Mooney.
Fan favourite Mooney has appeared for the O's on over 150 occasions and has certainly established himself as an icon at the club. During the recent glory days, Lisbie and Mooney formed a lethal partnership, with the Irish striker acting as a provider for Lisbie.
Albeit Mooney hasn't hit the ground running since his return to Brisbane Road, but everyone at Everything Orient believe that Mooney would complement the misfiring Bonne very well.
Mooney will provide the experience that Bonne needs and it may be beneficial for the young striker to learn off of a player who is very well respected in E10. Nonetheless, if Bonne continues to develop he may look like a very exciting yet lethal striker for next season.
