Is Bringing in Loanees the Answer to Promotion from the National League?

After finishing 13th in the National League during the 2017/18 season, promotion is certainly the aim for the upcoming campaign. But how will we go about it?

Although we started the 17/18 season with just eleven professional players, credit must go to Martin Ling for assembling an entire squad within such a short space of time. However, it is now time to challenge.

The sole aim of this season should be simply one thing, promotion to the Football League. Much like Wrexham, it's important to not get comfortable within this division and to get back into League Two as early as possible. Furthermore, the longer we stay in the National League, the harder the Orient will find it to get out of it.

Although bringing in loanees isn't the long term answer, it will certainly help the O's get promoted from the National League in my opinion.

During the 2013/14 season, Russell Slade brought in a host of loan signings who helped provide that extra ounce of quality when the Orient needed it most. These loan signings included the likes of Jamie Ness, John Lundstram and Eldin Jakupovic.

In particular, Jakupovic was magnificent during his loan spell at E10 and certainly made some stellar saves. In addition to this, the Bosnian keeper guaranteed a few extra points which may be a future loanee could do for Orient next season.

Furthermore, one of the best examples of the loan system working is the arrival of Ebou Adams this season. Since his arrival, the dynamic of the midfield completely changed and Ebou proved to be one of the key players of last season.

Therefore, is loaning players from higher divisions a short term solution which will guarantee promotion from the National League? Let us know your thoughts.
