A Shock Return For Cuthbert?

A few rumours have circulated this week that former Leyton Orient defender, Scott Cuthbert, could be set to return to Brisbane Road as a Player/Coach next campaign.

Scott Cuthbert is a Scottish defender who featured prominently in the 2013/14 season where Leyton Orient narrowly missed out on promotion but departed the club at the end of the following season.

However, a recent tweet by @LutonTownExile has suggested that the ex-Orient defender could be making a return to the east side of London.

@LutonTownExile

"Luton Skipper Scott Cuthbert could return to Leyton Orient as a player coach in the summer. Cuthbert, who is working towards his UEFA badges, has had injury issues at Kenilworth Road and may choose to join up with Justin Edinburgh to try and get the O's back to the Football League."

Cuthbert has made just under 100 appearances for the Hatters and we completed a profile on the player just a few short weeks ago.

Regarding his return to the club, Leyton Orient fans seem fairly positive about the mood.

@LindonOrient

"I would welcome him back with open arms."

@mebaker2001

"Great bloke and player. Would be a great addition to the squad."

Taking into consideration that for the past few fixtures, the entire defence has been under the age of 23 - Cuthbert may bring some professionalism and maturity to the back four.

Furthermore, the addition of Dean Brill as a coach and a player has been a real game changer for the O's and if this deal was to go through, it would almost certainly improve the defence now and in the future.

If there is any truth in this rumour, would you take Scott Cuthbert back at Orient? Let us know by commenting below or replying to our tweet. Up the O's!
